  • Name, email address, and phone number, for example when completing a contact or booking form

  • Billing information when purchasing a course or service

  • Any communications or feedback you send to us

  • Event registration details submitted through LinkedIn or other platforms

Information collected automatically:

  • IP address and browser type

  • Usage data such as pages visited and time spent on the site

  • Data collected via cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data to:

  • Respond to enquiries and support requests

  • Process bookings and payments

  • Deliver course content and related updates

  • Send marketing or newsletter emails where you have opted in, or where we are permitted to do so under the soft opt-in rules for existing contacts

  • Monitor and improve our website performance and user experience

We operate under UK GDPR as incorporated into UK law by the Data Protection Act 2018. We only process your personal data where we have a valid lawful basis, which will be one of the following:

  • Consent, for example where you opt into marketing emails

  • Contract performance, for example to process a course booking or payment

  • Legal obligation, where we are required to retain or disclose data by law

  • Legitimate interests, for example improving our services and communicating with event attendees, where we have assessed that this does not override your rights

 

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share it with trusted third-party providers who support the operation of our business, including:

  • Payment processors such as Stripe or PayPal

  • Email service providers such as Mailchimp or Brevo

  • Analytics providers such as Google Analytics

  • LinkedIn, where you register for an event through their platform. LinkedIn processes registration data as a data processor on our behalf. Please also review LinkedIn's Privacy Policy for details of data they hold independently.

  • Legal authorities, where we are required to disclose data by law

 

All third-party providers are contractually bound to process your data only as instructed and in compliance with applicable data protection law.

International transfers: Some of our third-party providers, including Google Analytics, Mailchimp, and Brevo, process data outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including reliance on the UK's adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses approved by the ICO.

 

5. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, and in line with our legal and financial obligations. As a guide:

  • Contact and enquiry data is retained for up to 12 months from last contact

  • Booking and payment records are retained for 7 years in line with HMRC requirements

  • Event registration data is retained for up to 24 months from the date of the event

  • Marketing contact data is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion

 

You may request deletion of your data at any time. See Section 8.

 

6. Cookies and Analytics

Our website uses cookies to understand visitor behaviour, improve site performance, and remember user preferences. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain functionality on the site.

 

7. Email Marketing

Where you have opted in to our mailing list, or where we are permitted to contact you as an existing contact, we may send updates, promotions, and relevant content. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, or by contacting us directly at contact@piadvisory.uk.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data

  • Request deletion of your data

  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing

  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal

  • Receive your data in a portable format where technically feasible

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
